Role: Senior SCR Design Engineer - Gas Turbine
Location: Houston, TX Work Type: Full time / Hybrid Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Gas Turbine SCR Design Engineer to lead the design and engineering of complete Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for gas turbine applications. This highly technical role is responsible for developing complete SCR system solutions from concept through fabrication-ready engineering packages while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality emissions control solutions. Mandatory Requirements Proven experience designing Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.
Hands-on experience designing SCR systems specifically for gas turbine applications (diesel turbine experience will not be considered).
Experience with GE gas turbines or similar gas turbine manufacturers/models is strongly preferred.
Candidates with Process Engineering backgrounds will be considered only if they possess directly transferable SCR design experience for gas turbine applications.
Key Responsibilities Design complete SCR systems for gas turbine applications.
Design and integrate catalyst systems, reactors, ammonia injection grids (AIG), ductwork, and supporting hardware.
Develop complete engineering packages for fabrication and installation.
Size and specify major mechanical equipment and system components.
Perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations.
Ensure designs comply with applicable U.S. engineering codes, environmental regulations, and customer specifications.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project teams throughout project execution.
Support technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate engineering documentation and support engineering reviews and approvals as required.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Demonstrated experience designing complete SCR systems, including catalyst selection, reactor design, ammonia injection systems (AIG), flow distribution, and hardware/package design.
Strong knowledge of U.S. engineering codes, emissions control standards, and power generation systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills Experience designing skid-mounted process equipment.
Experience with emissions control systems in power generation.
Familiarity with manufacturing and fabrication processes.
Understanding of engineering review and professional engineering sign-off processes.
Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
