About the role
Role Overview
The Test / Software Engineer will focus on software development and testing of cryptographic products. This role involves installation, integration, and system-level testing of hardware/software to ensure compliance with design requirements and security standards. You will also perform in-depth security verification testing of cryptographic systems and support the development of reliable, high-assurance engineering solutions. The role requires adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to both mentor others and learn new technologies. Key Responsibilities Install, integrate, and test operational hardware/software systems
Validate systems against design specifications, requirements, and standards
Develop and execute test cases using Python
Debug software and resolve defects in collaboration with engineering teams
Analyze system requirements and translate them into test plans
Write and maintain test procedures and documentation
Support system installation and monitor operational performance
Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define test strategies
Recommend improvements to documentation, processes, and system design
Modify software to fix issues, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
Required Skills & Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph
Strong proficiency in Python
Strong proficiency in C programming
Hands-on experience in testing and debugging complex systems
Ability to design test cases from system requirements
Experience working in hardware-software integrated environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work closely with cross-functional engineering teams
Preferred / Highly Desirable Experience Embedded software development experience
FPGA exposure or experience
Understanding of cryptographic systems, protocols, and secure computing environments
Education & Experience Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
OR 4+ years of relevant experience (with additional experience substituting for degree)
Senior-Level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
OR 10+ years of relevant experience (with additional experience substituting for degree)
