About the role
Assist Engineers with planning and designing HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, integrating design solutions into coordinated construction documents and BIM models for commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and industrial projects.
Lead the development of mechanical construction documents, including plans, details, schedules, specifications, equipment selections, and engineering calculations such as heating/cooling loads, ventilation, ductwork, piping, and pressure drop analyses using industry-standard software.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to resolve design issues, maintain interdisciplinary coordination, and ensure code-compliant, accurate, and constructible designs throughout all project phases.
Review mechanical drawings, calculations, and specifications for quality, consistency, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes, firm standards, and client requirements while supporting the development and maintenance of design standards and templates.
Support project execution through technical problem-solving, field investigations, existing building assessments, commissioning activities, and construction administration, including reviewing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and conducting periodic site observations under engineer guidance.
Contribute to continuous improvement by mentoring junior staff, sharing technical knowledge, and delivering presentations or training sessions on mechanical engineering best practices, design workflows, BIM coordination, and emerging technologies.
