Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack Development

We are seeking for an experienced Full Stack Developer for a Senior Software Engineer role in W rtsil Information Management (IM) organisation. The primary responsibility is Backend development, including Database, Cloud, and DevOps tasks, following Agile methodologies and best practices in Software Development. You will be closely collaborating with Product owners, Stakeholders of Master Data Automation, and internal/external experts. This position is based in IM India Delivery Centre - Mumbai, India, reporting to Manager of Integration and API Delivery Services, with operational oversight from matrix manager of Information Architecture Delivery. About the Position The Senior Software Engineer, functioning as a Full Stack Developer with a focus on applications development for MDA (Master Data Automation), is responsible for Backend and APIs development, and delivering solutions within specified timelines adhering to Architectural and Developer guidelines and best practices, while ensuring data security and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will: Work with Product owners and Stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into the technical requirements. Design and Implement Solutions using RESTful APIs as per requirements following industry best practices. Write clean, maintainable and efficient code for API development and automation tasks. Review the Code to maintain high quality and encourage knowledge sharing among development team. Work on API development using FastAPI framework and Scripting skills including JavaScript and Node.js. Ensure the APIs security through the implementation of authentication, authorization, encryption techniques. Provide technical support for solutions including troubleshooting and resolving the issues, identify root causes and document the lessons learnt. Keeping abreast of technological advancements and best practices in API development to continuously improve existing APIs. Have strong problem-solving/analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach. Take data privacy and compliance seriously. Work in a dynamic organization by balancing multiple enhancements, improvements and priorities. Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of solution. Stay with the latest technologies and architectural methods in backend development. Qualifications and experience: Overall, 7 years of IT experience, including 5 years as a Full Stack Developer with proven backend development skills following Agile methodology. Extensive experience in Python, and proficiency in API development. Extensive experience with Databases such as PostgreSQL and MSSQL. Good to have experience and knowledge of Front-end development (React) and Scripting skills (Node.js). Knowledge of SAP OData and Manufacturing domain will be an added advantage. Proven track record working with Cloud and Scalable (Azure or AWS, and Kubernetes) environments. Work experience with DevOps, GIT, CI/CD, and Atlassian Tools (Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket, Confluence). Proficiency in Maintaining the applications, Monitoring solutions, Analysis, Reporting and Unit testing. Good understanding in Master data automation and knowledge in master data management security. Post Graduation or Graduation in information technology, or Computer Science/Applications. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
