The position of Research Intern at Weir Minerals in Bangalore is ideal for individuals eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges and grow their capabilities through hands-on experience in research and development. At the Weir Advanced Research Centre, you will have the opportunity to engage directly in testing the physical properties of polymer materials using a fundamental approach. Key Responsibilities: - Design, Develop, and Test Systems: Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical and mechatronic systems, contributing to innovative engineering solutions. - Support Research Activities: Participate in ongoing engineering research projects through experimentation, simulations, and data analysis to validate concepts and improve processes. - Prototype Assembly and Evaluation: Engage in the assembly of prototypes and conduct performance evaluations to assess functionality and reliability. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical and software engineers to integrate multidisciplinary insights into research and development efforts. - Documentation and Reporting: Record experimental procedures and results accurately, prepare technical reports, and present findings to the engineering team. Qualifications Required: - Currently pursuing a Masters degree (ME/M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or Mechatronics. - Solid understanding of core engineering principles. - Practical experience with Design of Experiments (DOE). - Basic proficiency in CAD tools. - Familiarity with computer programming. - Hands-on experience using engineering instruments highly desirable. - Knowledge of mechanics of materials and how systems behave under load. - Ability to perform and apply engineering calculations in practical settings. - Understanding of automation and experimental programming.
