Automation Engineer

Role Overview: As a member of the automation team, your role is crucial in designing, programming, simulating, and testing automation products or processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for understanding software requirements, analyzing current technology architecture, formulating project plans, and contributing to the automation roadmap design and testing process improvements. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and understand the current technology architecture, system interdependencies, and application stacks. - Formulate project plans in collaboration with project management and outline steps required for project development. - Contribute to the automation roadmap design and testing process improvements by researching automation architectures and developing new solutions. - Design and execute software development and reporting processes. - Ensure the environment is prepared for the execution process by designing test plans, developing test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executing these cases. - Participate in design activities with the development team related to testing automation processes for functional and non-functional requirements. - Track and report key metrics to ensure full coverage of functional and non-functional requirements through automation. - Own the testing and validation of codes to eliminate errors. - Develop and implement automated testing tools when necessary to ensure efficiency and accuracy. - Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to develop robust test automation tests for functional, regression, and performance testing. - Assist in creating acceptance criteria for user stories and generate a test automation backlog. - Work closely with business Subject Matter Experts to understand automation requirements and deploy applications using automation tools. - Ensure effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders for issue resolution and status updates. Qualifications Required: - Knowledge of current and upcoming technology, expertise in programming, and automation tools/systems. - Understanding of Automation design standards, technical knowledge of testing tools, and customization implementation. - Ability to perform backend/database programming for key projects. - Strong documentation skills and adherence to quality standards.
