About the role

Most people look at a chip packet or a worn-out t-shirt and see rubbish. We see raw material. Without® is a Pune-based Certified B Corp taking on one of recycling's hardest, most stubborn problems: multilayer plastic (MLP) packaging and mixed textile waste — the stuff conventional recycling simply gives up on. Through our patented chemo-mechanical technology, VerdiCycle, we turn this impossible-to-recycle waste into engineering-grade recycled materials now used across automotive, eyewear, packaging, and home & garden. We've been featured on Shark Tank India and Business Insider, and we're currently scaling up our first commercial plant. We're looking for two hands-on, curious interns to join our Science team and get stuck into the real work of making this technology better from lab-scale experiments right through to plant-level process improvement. It's a rare chance to work at the intersection of chemistry and chemical engineering on a circular-economy technology that actually exists and is actually scaling. You'll work directly with p ost-consumer waste streams - municipal waste containing flexible packaging, and textile waste — helping us push our recycling process forward. You'll be embedded alongside the scientists and engineers building the core technology, including alkaline hydrolysis, TPA recovery and purification, and polymer reformulation. Fair warning: this isn't a typical 9-to-5, and it's not a watch-from-the-sidelines internship. You'll handle real waste, run real trials, and see your work show up in a real plant. What you'll do Support day-to-day lab operations — experiment setup, execution, and documentation Handle post-consumer waste feedstock (flexible packaging/MLP and textile waste) through process trials Assist with solution preparation, reagent handling, and safe handling of alkalis and acids Operate and support chemical reaction equipment at both lab and industrial (plant) scale Keep accurate records, observations, and data logs in line with good lab practices Work with the Science team on process-improvement initiatives to scale our MLP and textile recycling Support housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and lab safety protocols What you'll bring Education BSc in Chemistry, or Diploma in Chemical Engineering Experience Freshers welcome; up to 2 years of relevant experience Skills Solid grounding in good lab practices — accurate weighing, solution preparation, and safe handling of alkalis and acids Working familiarity with chemical reaction equipment in lab and/or industrial settings Willingness to work directly with post-consumer waste materials (municipal/flexible packaging and textile waste) — the impact is real, and so is the material Attention to detail, a strong safety instinct, and genuine curiosity about recycling and the circular economy Your Compensation Monthly stipend of 15,000 6-month, full-time internship with an internship completion letter
