The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background subsea engineering principles, subsea systems, and relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO).

This role involves working closely with our engineering team to develop FE models, perform detailed analyses and provide insights that drive our product development and optimisation.

Expected:

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering in electrical engineering

Proven experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry, preferably having a proven track record in subsea projects

Strong knowledge of subsea engineering principles, subsea systems, and relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO)

Proficiency in using subsea engineering software tools, such as subsea design and analysis software

Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within deadlines and budget constraints

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and contractors

Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative and practical solutions to complex subsea engineering challenges

Sound understanding of HSE regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment

The key objectives for this role are:

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical expertise in topside/subsea electrical engineering activities; we are specially looking for engineers with experience of front-end activities

Participate in the development of engineering solutions for subsea projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards

Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends in topside and subsea engineering and apply them to enhance project efficiency and safety

Subsea Controls Electrical Design:

Develop and review design for electrical panels located on onshore terminals/offshore platforms/floating vessels responsible for providing AC or DC power (up to 1000 V) and communication to subsea equipment located up to 100 km away from the source

Experience on fibre optic communication and on copper-based communication superimposed on power line

Experience on power and communication analysis (using PSpice or equivalent software) to identify best-case and worst-case power and communication response of the system with multiple nodes

Experience on preparing test philosophies and procedures for topside and subsea electrical equipment

Preferably should have an experience on developing and reviewing the subsea electrical engineering designs, specifications, and procedures for Subsea Control Module, Distribution Module and subsea instrumentation

Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to evaluate and select appropriate topside/subsea equipment, power/communication distribution architecture and communication topology

Review engineering deliverables to ensure technical alignment across multiple contractors (BoD’s, PFD’S, P&IDS, etc)

HSE Compliance:

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations throughout subsea engineering activities

Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to mitigate potential hazards and minimise operational risks
