About the role
Lead the engineering, design, specification, review, and technical management of HVAC systems for industrial facilities, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power Generation, LNG, and Process Plant projects.
Develop HVAC design philosophies, Basis of Design (BoD), design criteria, and perform HVAC load calculations using recognized engineering methodologies and software.
Design and specify ventilation, air conditioning, pressurization, smoke control, and related HVAC systems in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and local regulations.
Prepare HVAC equipment specifications, datasheets, technical requisitions, material take-offs, and bid evaluation criteria for procurement activities.
Review and approve HVAC system layouts, ductwork arrangements, equipment selections, engineering calculations, vendor drawings, technical submissions, and manufacturing documentation.
Serve as Package Equipment Engineer for assigned mechanical packages, supporting procurement activities, technical bid evaluations, vendor coordination, document review, and equipment acceptance.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, quality requirements, safety regulations, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, EPC contractors, construction contractors, vendors, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, SIL reviews, constructability assessments, and other project risk management activities.
Monitor engineering progress, identify technical and schedule risks, and develop practical solutions to maintain project objectives and milestones.
Manage all aspects of HVAC-related construction support, including material reviews, installation coordination, field engineering support, and technical guidance during project execution.
Respond to technical queries (TQs), requests for information (RFIs), vendor deviations, site engineering issues, and punch-list items in a timely and professional manner.
Provide technical support, clarifications, and solutions to clients, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
(Optional but advantageous) Support commissioning, functional testing, performance testing, troubleshooting, and start-up activities to ensure HVAC systems operate safely, reliably, and in accordance with design requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and best engineering practices to enhance project execution and operational performance.
