Director of Technology

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership & Planning ? Lead the ar cula on, development, and implementa on of a school-wide technology vision and mul-year technology roadmap ? Ensure technology ini a ves are aligned with ins tu onal strategy, teaching and learning priori es, and opera onal requirements ? Represent faculty, staff, and student perspec ves in technology planning and con nuous improvement processes ? Monitor emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance and poten al impact on the school environment ? Shape and evolve the role over time through innovative thinking, collaborative practice, and a willingness to assume additional responsibilities that enhance e ectiveness, strengthen institutional priorities, and support a progressive and responsive organizational environment. Technology Opera ons & Infrastructure ? Ensure reliable opera on, performance, and con nuous improvement of infrastructure, networks, systems, and pla orms ? Oversee acquisi on, implementa on, maintenance, and lifecycle management of hardware, so ware, and cloud services ? Coordinate network upgrades, capacity planning, and infrastructure enhancements ? Maintain comprehensive asset, license, warranty, and maintenance inventories Cybersecurity, Data Governance & Con nuity ? Lead cybersecurity, data protec on, and risk management prac ces across the ins tu on ? Develop and maintain incident response, disaster recovery, and business con nuity plans ? Ensure appropriate access controls, monitoring, and compliance with data privacy and safeguarding requirements ? Promote responsible technology use and digital safety within the school community Educa onal Technology & User Enablement ? Partner with academic leadership to support effec ve integra on of technology into teaching and learning ? Provide oversight of learning pla orms and classroom technology environments ? Lead staff and student onboarding, training, and ongoing capability-building ini a ves ? Support innova on and pedagogical use of digital tools Projects, Change Management & Communica on ? Lead technology projects from planning through implementa on, evalua on, and repor ng ? Provide clear communica on and change-management support during system implementa ons, upgrades, or service disrup ons ? Establish project priori es, melines, and success criteria in consulta on with stakeholders Financial & Vendor Management ? Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring responsible planning and cost opmiza on ? Lead vendor selec on, procurement processes, and contract lifecycle management including SLAs, renewals, and performance review ? Build and maintain effec ve rela onships with local and interna onal suppliers and service partners Leadership & Team Management ? Provide leadership, supervision, and professional development for technology department staff ? Oversee the work of the Network Manager and Ed-Tech Support Manager ? Foster a collabora ve, service-oriented, and learning-focused departmental culture ? Address staffing, performance, and welfare ma ers within the team Ins tu onal Engagement ? Serve as a member of the school?s Opera ons Council and other commi ees as required ? Contribute to ins tu onal policy development and review related to technology use, security, and governance SPECIAL NOTES ? The role may require availability during evenings or weekends to support cri cal opera ons or projects ? Requires reasonable physical mobility to navigate the school?s hilly campus terrain ? Periodic on-call responsiveness may be required for major incidents or outages QUALIFICATIONS ? REQUIRED ? Master's degree in informa on technology, Computer Science, Informa on Systems, or related discipline ? Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibility ? Demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure and enterprise pla orms (including Microso 365 / SharePoint environments) ? Proven team leadership and project management experience QUALIFICATIONS ? PREFERRED ? Advanced degree or cer fica on in Educa onal Technology, Informa on Security, or IT Leadership ? Experience in an interna onal and/or residen al school environment ? Relevant professional cer fica ons (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP, Microso , Google) SKILLS & COMPETENCIES ?
