About the role As an Insights Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in translating raw data into actionable business intelligence that drives strategic, operational, and customer-centric decisions across business unit/group. Acting as a key translator between complex datasets and diverse business stakeholders, you will uncover trends, evaluate performance, and build compelling stories that clarify operational outcomes and identify opportunities for optimization. Leveraging enterprise data platforms, business intelligence tools, and modern analytical methods, you will empower decision-makers to act with clarity and confidence. You will bring a highly curious, structured, and growth-oriented mindset to solve ambiguous business challenges. What youll do Perform quantitative analysis to diagnose "what happened" and "why it happened," proactively identifying anomalies, trends, and correlations. Manage and deliver end-to-end ad-hoc insights requests from initial requirement gathering and scoping through to SQL execution, data synthesis, and final presentation. Support and lead the maintenance of routine business performance metrics, dashboards, and health measures to ensure leadership has an accurate, timely view of key business drivers. Independently define analysis plans based on business problems, ensuring insight briefs and outcomes are directly linked to commercial or strategic goals. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data preparation tasks and optimize existing queries, minimizing manual work and technical debt. Validate findings and maintain high data quality standards, flagging anomalies early and complying strictly with organizational data governance, privacy laws, and security protocols. Move beyond simply "reporting facts" to crafting structured narrative summaries that emphasize high-impact takeaways. Design, build, and maintain tailored dashboards and reports (using Power BI, Tableau, Google Sheets, or Excel) that translate raw metrics into clean, easily interpreted business visuals. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, tailoring the complexity of your written and verbal communications to suit both technical and non-technical audiences. Actively apply GenAI and modern productivity tools in your daily workflows to optimize data preparation, code generation, and administrative tasks. Operate autonomously and collaboratively in an Agile team framework, demonstrating self-sufficiency in managing your own workload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting timelines. Proactively share knowledge within your team or chapter, adopting a growth mindset by seeking regular feedback and learning new technical methodologies. What youll bring Programming & Version Control: Writes clean, structured, and optimized SQL code (utilizing SELECT, JOINs, CTEs, and Window Functions) to query complex database environments (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure). Highly proficient in writing SQL code to manipulate large-scale, semi-structured datasets. Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery, AWS, Azure) is highly regarded. Basic working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis. Proven experience designing operational dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or Google Looker Studio. Follows team coding style guides and utilizes basic version control tools (Git commands like commit, push, pull). Proficient in building standard charts and interactive dashboards in select tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, Power BI), adhering to consistent brand guidelines and user experience best practices. Strong foundation in descriptive and diagnostic statistics (mean, median, standard deviation, distribution analyses) and regression modeling. Able to clearly communicate the difference between correlation and causation to stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to apply an "AI-first" approach to analytical problem-solving, utilising Generative AI and prompt engineering to automate workflows and accelerate coding. A proven track record of staying abreast of AI and machine learning advancements to pilot tools that facilitate natural language data querying for non-technical stakeholders.
