About the role
What you'll do
— Report and liaise with the Workshare Manager on all technical and personnel issues. — Allocation of drafting resources. — Maintaining technical standards — Keep all project information up to date. — Assist in the identification of technical problems and contribute with possible solutions. — Inform the work share manager and clients about the progress and status of the work. — Ensure that accurate drawings and registration systems are produced according to supplied specifications and applicable standards, internal and external. — Overall co-operation and consultation with colleagues on drawings. — Check / ensure drawings comply with specific Project Design Brief Instructions and all details are being carried out correctly to WSP Standards and QA Procedures. — Attend CAD progress meetings and Management meeting when required. — Liaise with other Team Leaders, Engineers as well as other WSP offices regarding work issues and deadlines. — Prepare regular reports on project status, including weekly progress reports, for the approval of the Workshare Manager. — Estimate work completion targets to the Workshare Manager/Clients — Supervise drawing issues, prioritize work packages and liaise with the document controller to ensure issue dates and work packages are sent on time and to the correct contacts. — Review staff allocations for assigned projects, monitor team member’s punctuality and pass comments/reminders to Drafting Lead/Manager on leave applications and public holiday periods which may have an effect on resources and work issue dates. — Ensure work is being carried out to appropriate Codes of Practice. — Train other staff in technical aspects, good practices and ensure staff is proficient in the use of CAD/BIM software. — Distribute drawings for internal discipline check and process any remarks. — Provide feedback and input to improve departmental standards, working methods and guidelines. Carry out all functions in accordance with the approved procedures of the Management System. — Other duties as directed, to help the company provide outstanding service to its customers
What we will love about you
— Technical competence commensurate with a BIM Coordinator’s role. — A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or any related course — Knowledgeable in Revit Structures & AutoCAD — Skills in Dynamo and coding is a plus — Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Applications — Good English communication Skills. — Typically 12+ years of relevant experience — Management ability relative to management of workload, systems and team. — Ability to check documentation accurately and in a timely manner. — Experience in structural modelling and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures — Experience in BIM360, BIM360 docs, Project wise — The ability to work as a team player, working with the wide variety of personalities and situations whilst remaining professional and outcome focused. — The ability to work independently and to communicate clearly with clients, management team, office team members, colleagues and consultants. — Attention to detail and the ability to follow up targets and deadlines to achieve outcomes — Recognised expert in technical discipline with broad experience in providing key technical expertise across a wide range of diverse and complex projects. — Advanced skills in modelling & detailing complex designs. Highly competent using role specific software for the production of project design outputs. — Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships. Demonstrated competence in delivering best client’s outcomes/options. — Proficient at liaising and communicating with internal and project team members including the management and allocation of design and documentation work as required. Experience in supervising staff and seniors. — Proven ability in building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organization — Major contributor to IQBE initiatives. Inputs to technical standard and protocols — Working knowledge of WSP's organisational capability and how to access it. — Working knowledge of systems, procedures and practices. — Working knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
