About the role
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, systems, or railway engineering; 7+ years of progressive experience in fixed-block and/or CBTC signaling system maintenance and/or design may be considered in lieu of a degree. Proven record of reviewing, approving, and coordinating block design packages for mixed-mode signaling operation. Experience developing or reviewing interlocking logic test procedures and software state machine implementations. Understanding of NYCT signal principles, operational practices, and legacy control systems. Understanding of vital and non-vital signal logic, relay-based control circuits, and their translation into CBTC subsystem software. Familiarity with Interface Interoperability Specification signal design standards. Working knowledge of interlocking design, block layouts, overlap logic, and control line functions. Understanding of test sequencing, verification, and validation of signaling systems within mixed-mode operation. Prior involvement in at least one major Train Control System deployment or migration project within NYCT or a comparable transit agency. Ability to work during off-hour testing or commissioning as needed. Ability to support field reviews, test witnessing, and agency coordination meetings. Flexibility to perform additional responsibilities as assigned to ensure program success. Preferred Qualifications Exceptional analytical and diagnostic skills for reviewing detailed circuit and software logic. Effective communicator able to represent technical findings and recommendations to NYCT operations and design teams.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $123,700 - $182,000 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
