Java Developer and Support Job

Job Description : Java Backend Developer and Support Experience:- 4 - 8 Years Location :- Chennai / Bengaluru (or as applicable) Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Java Backend Developer to support and enhance enterprise Warranty Applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java-based web application development using JSP, Servlets, and Struts framework, along with experience in application support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement of critical business systems. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, QA teams, support teams, and architects to deliver reliable and scalable solutions supporting warranty and after-market business processes. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Warranty Applications using Java technologies. Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop backend components using Core Java, JSP, Servlets, and Struts framework. Support production applications and troubleshoot complex technical issues. Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Collaborate with QA teams during testing cycles and support defect resolution. Work closely with business users during requirement gathering, UAT, and production deployments. Prepare technical documentation, design documents, and support knowledge articles. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Ensure compliance with security, audit, and change management processes. Support application modernization and migration initiatives as required. Required Technical Skills Core Technologies Strong hands-on experience in: Core Java J2EE JSP Servlets Struts Framework (Struts 1.x / Struts 2.x) Database Oracle / MYSQL/ DBeaver/TOAD Stored Procedures Web Technologies HTML CSS JavaScript AJAX Integration REST APIs SOAP Web Services XML / JSON Tools & Platforms Eclipse Git / GitHub Maven Azure DevOps SonarQube Application Support Incident Analysis & Resolution Production Support Root Cause Analysis Defect Tracking Change Management Preferred Skills Exposure to Servlets, Spring Framework and Struts Experience with OpenShift, AWS or Azure cloud platforms. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines. Experience working in global delivery teams. Understanding of application security best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline. 4-8 years of experience in Java application development and support. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
