About the Role Our client is seeking an Azure Database Administrator (7+ years) to manage and optimize their database environments across production, development, QA, and disaster recovery systems. This remote position will involve working with a variety of database technologies, ensuring high availability and performance, and implementing security measures to protect sensitive data. Key Responsibilities - Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain database environments across production, development, QA, and disaster recovery systems. - Manage NoSQL, relational, and caching database technologies including Cosmos DB, Redis, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. - Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations, and environment refresh activities. - Ensure high availability, database uptime, and optimal performance across systems. - Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies. - Optimize queries, indexing, caching, partitioning, and database configuration. - Conduct capacity planning and recommend scalability improvements. - Implement database security controls, encryption, access management, and auditing. - Manage database roles, permissions, authentication, and authorization. - Ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with enterprise and healthcare security standards. - Troubleshoot critical database incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA). - Support production deployments, database releases, and change management activities. - Participate in on-call support for critical production systems. Required Skills - 7+ years of experience in database administration, particularly with Azure Cosmos DB and Redis. - Robust expertise in database performance tuning and optimization. - Experience with backup and recovery management, replication, clustering, and high availability. - Proficient in SQL query optimization and indexing. - Hands-on experience with cloud database administration, preferably in Azure. Preferred Skills - Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL. - Familiarity with healthcare, hospital systems, or regulated industries. - Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments. - Knowledge of data migration and ETL processes. - Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications. Qualifications - 7-10 years of professional experience in database administration. - Demonstrated experience managing complex database environments. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
