Senior Embedded Engineer - Firmware (Linux) Experience 3 to 6 years JOB DESCRIPTION The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Linux Kernel development, device drivers, hardware bring-up, and bare-metal/RTOS-based development on ARM-based MCUs and i.MX processors. Experience with wireless technologies like BLE and Wi-Fi is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, port, and maintain Linux BSPs including bootloader (U-Boot) and Linux - Kernel for ARM-based SoCs (e.g., NXP i.MX series, STM32MPx). - Design and implement Linux device drivers for interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART,USB, Ethernet, GPIO, PCIe, etc. - Perform hardware bring-up and board diagnostics for custom hardware platforms. - Integrate and develop software stacks for Wi-Fi, BLE, and cellular modems. - Work with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr) on MCUs for real-time control or peripheral management. - Develop low-level firmware in C/C++ and optimize for performance and power. - Contribute to Yocto Project build system for customized Linux distributions. - Collaborate with hardware and application teams to debug issues and support new platform development. - Use tools such as JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers for system-level debugging. - Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and peer code reviews. Required Skills: - Solid hands-on experience in Linux Kernel internals, driver development, and system programming. - Proven expertise in i.MX processors (e.g., i.MX6/8) and ARM Cortex-A/M-based platforms. - Deep knowledge of embedded C/C++ programming.Experience with Yocto Project, Buildroot, and embedded Linux distributions.Expertise in U-Boot and device tree customization. - Working knowledge of BLE and Wi-Fi stack integration, including kernel-space and user-space handling. - Experience with RTOS development and debugging on MCUs (e.g., STM32, NXP, TI).Solid understanding of hardware interfaces and schematic-level debugging. Nice to Have: - Exposure to Android kernel/driver development on embedded platforms. - Familiarity with secure boot, Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), or OTA update mechanisms. - Experience with containers (e.g., Docker) or virtualization (e.g., QEMU) in embedded systems. - Knowledge of networking stack and protocols such as TCP/IP, MQTT, CoAP. - Contributions to open-source projects or upstream kernel patches.
