About the role
Job Role: L3 Network SME Exp: 8+ Years Work Location: Pune We are looking for a candidate with hands on experience in Routing & Switching ,Protocols, SDWAN, Palo Alto Firewall, Wireless, Load Balancer,OSI Layers, Subnet Masking ,Micro Segmentation, N\W Fundamentals, TCP / IP, CCNA / CCNP Certified, NETWORK ENGINEERING - L3 End-to-End Network Operations Drive real-time monitoring and stability of global LAN/WAN/SD-WAN environments Own incident resolution at L2 level with clear focus on MTTR reduction Act as a first escalation layer for all critical network issues Incident & Change Excellence Handle complex incidents under pressure with structured troubleshooting across OSI layers (L1L7) Execute high-impact changes in production environments with zero-defect mindset Contribute to RCA, problem management, and service improvements Performance & Optimization Continuously analyze network performance, traffic patterns, and capacity utilization Proactively drive optimization initiatives across routing, firewall, and SD-WAN layers Identify and eliminate single points of failure (SPOFs) Security & Connectivity Leadership Manage and troubleshoot: Site-to-Site & Remote Access VPNs Firewall policies and segmentation Load balancing (L4/L7) & application delivery flows Ensure strict adherence to enterprise security and compliance standards Automation-Driven Mindset (Must-Have) Leverage Python, Ansible, and GitHub to automate repetitive network operations Move the environment towards self-healing and automation-first operations Actively contribute to runbook automation and scripting frameworks What We Expect (Non-Negotiable Skills) Network Fundamentals (Strong Depth Required) Advanced understanding of: Subnetting (CIDR, VLSM) must be able to design & troubleshoot confidently OSI Model (Layer-wise troubleshooting) real-time application expected Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP) Technology Stack Expertise Strong hands-on experience in: Palo Alto Firewalls (mandatory) Cisco Routing/Switching + ACI Aruba / VMware VeloCloud (SD-WAN) Citrix NetScaler (ADC / Load Balancer) Load Balancing (Critical Skill) Solid understanding of: L4 vs L7 load balancing Algorithms: Round Robin, Least Connections, Weighted Health checks, failover mechanisms Persistence / session stickiness SSL offloading and traffic distribution Tools & Platforms ServiceNow (ITSM) – strong experience in incident/change lifecycle Monitoring tools (SolarWinds / Dynatrace / equivalent) Exposure to DNS/DHCP/IPAM (InfoBlox preferred) Experience 9 - 12 years (L3 Engineer) | 8+ years relevant (Senior level) Proven experience handling enterprise-scale production environments A, CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer). Experience with InfoBlox DNS/DHCP management.
