Senior Web Developer

As a Senior Web Developer specializing in eCommerce with 8-12+ years of experience in web development, including 5+ years in Shopify & WordPress, you will be responsible for leading a WordPress-to-Shopify migration and eCommerce build-out project for a key client. Your role will involve converting an existing WordPress site into a fully functional Shopify eCommerce storefront. You are expected to work with minimal oversight, deliver professional-grade output, and ensure the final site is technically sound, visually engaging, and optimized for conversions. Key Responsibilities: - Migrate all existing site content from WordPress to Shopify, preserving design intent and content integrity. - Maintain URL structures, redirects, and SEO signals throughout migration. - Configure a fully functional Shopify storefront with product listings, PDPs, and collections. - Integrate base MSRP equipment pricing sourced from a sister website owned by the client. - Implement payment system options consistent with the client's existing setup. Qualifications Required: - 812+ years of professional web development experience, preferably in an agency or product company setting. - 5+ years of hands-on Shopify development including theme customization, Liquid templating, and Shopify APIs. - 5+ years of WordPress development including custom themes, plugins, and WooCommerce. - Proficiency in technical skills such as Shopify theme development, WordPress theme & plugin development, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, REST APIs, and more. In addition to the technical aspects of the role, you will be expected to possess soft skills such as being highly self-directed, a strong communicator, detail-oriented, a problem-solver, and comfortable working in an international, cross-cultural project environment. The success of the engagement will be measured by the successful launch of a fully functional Shopify storefront, accurate migration of existing content, operational payment and shipping configurations, 'Good' Core Web Vitals scores, and minimal rework required post-handover. It is important to note that this project requires a developer capable of taking full ownership and delivering independently, with proficiency in both Shopify and WordPress being mandatory.
