BI Developer (Looker) (Kolkata)

Experience: 5 8 years Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Looker data models and dashboards. - Design, develop, and maintain LookML models, including views, explores, and dashboards. - Build intuitive, high-performance dashboards and reports to enable self-service analytics for business users. - Develop reusable semantic models aligned with enterprise data standards and governance practices. - Optimize Looker queries and dashboard performance for large-scale datasets, especially on Snowflake or cloud data platforms. - Ensure data accuracy and consistency by validating data pipelines and coordinating with data engineering teams. - Implement row-level security (RLS) and access controls to ensure secure and compliant data access. - Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cycles. - Support production deployments, issue resolution, and ongoing enhancements to reporting solutions. Required Skills Experience - Strong hands-on experience with Looker (LookML, dashboards, explores, and reporting). - Expertise in SQL and ability to write complex, optimized queries. - Experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake (preferred), Big Query, or Redshift. - Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, star schema). - Experience in performance tuning and query optimization in BI/reporting environments. - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery models and tools like JIRA. - Good understanding of data validation, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
