Job Overview:

This contract role supports a Medicaid IT environment by managing and customizing Serena ChangeMan , a mainframe-based configuration management tool. The position involves scripting, testing upgrades, training users, and overseeing software migrations—all within a compliance-driven, federally regulated setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Customize and maintain the ChangeMan tool , including scripting with REXX/XML , and modifying internal skeletons and panels

Evaluate, test, and install software upgrades or new releases of ChangeMan

Own and maintain documentation for all configuration management processes, ensuring audit-readiness

Train internal teams on the updated ChangeMan system and provide consulting support

Serve as the primary contact for ChangeMan-related questions, troubleshooting, and guidance

Oversee and verify software migrations into production, ensuring proper approvals and successful deployment

Collaborate effectively with internal staff and external contractors across technical and operational teams

Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats , especially in high-pressure or fast-paced environments

Required Skills:

2+ years as a ChangeMan Administrator

5+ years working with mainframe technologies : MVS COBOL, JCL, and IDMS

Deep familiarity with ChangeMan internals , including skeletons and panels

Strong understanding of configuration management principles , release governance , and software testing procedures

Excellent soft skills : communication, adaptability, analytical thinking, time management, and stress tolerance

Preferred Skills:

Experience with CA-ADS

Prior involvement in ChangeMan upgrades or migrations

Background in healthcare IT , insurance systems , or Medicaid/MMIS environments in healthcare IT, insurance systems, or Medicaid/MMIS is a plus
