Location: Remote (DMV Area – DC, MD, VA required for occasional onsite & final F2F interview) Duration: Long-term Contract Work Environment: Fast-paced, cross-functional enterprise team

6+ years SDET experience with Java/Selenium automation, strong backend & ETL testing, expert SQL on large datasets, Jenkins scripting, and mandatory healthcare (Claims/Enrollment) domain experience.

Seeking an experienced Software Automation Engineer / SDET with strong Backend & ETL Testing expertise to support a high-volume, enterprise production environment. This role requires a hands-on tester who can balance test automation , backend/ETL validation , and large-scale data testing while collaborating closely with development, product, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Java and Selenium

Perform backend and ETL testing , validating complex data flows and transformations

Execute and optimize large-scale SQL queries against enterprise datasets (millions of records)

Support production and pre-production environments with both automation and backend testing

Create, update, and maintain Jenkins scripts and pipelines for CI/CD testing automation

Validate data integrity across front-end, backend, and ETL layers

Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and automated test scripts

Actively participate in Agile and Waterfall SDLC processes

Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as JIRA, ALM, AGM , or similar

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases

Communicate test results, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree (required)

6+ years of experience as an SDET / Software Automation Engineer

Strong hands-on experience in Backend & ETL Testing

Healthcare Insurance domain experience is mandatory , specifically:

Claims processing systems or

Enrollment platforms

Expert-level SQL querying skills , including complex joins and performance-heavy queries

Proven experience supporting large enterprise datasets (millions of records)

Strong experience with:

Java & Selenium

SoapUI or similar API testing tools

Hands-on experience writing, updating, and maintaining Jenkins scripts

Solid experience with defect tracking and test management tools

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (critical for this role)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DB2 UDB , DB2 Mainframe , and/or MongoDB

• Exposure to or hands-on experience with GenAI Testing

• Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments
