AI / ML Team Leader Profile Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Provide architectural and design guidance across software development and AI/ML projects. Serve as the senior technical voice in India, working closely with the CTO on roadmap, priorities, and technical strategy. Guide the integration of AI/ML components into production systems. Work with outside agencies/vendors with projects and integrations. Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of software engineers and data scientists. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, with strong ownership and accountability. Act as the problem solver, supporting team members on both technical and execution challenges. Hands-on Engineering Contribute directly to codebases (likely ~30 50% IC work), focusing on complex problems, design-heavy components, and critical integrations. Review code, models, and architectures to ensure best practices across software and ML domains. Execution & Delivery Ensure the team meets deadlines, delivers quality software, and proactively manages risks. Work with the CTO to balance immediate delivery needs with long-term technical health. Own technical communication between Chennai and US teams. Qualifications Experience 10 -12 years of hands-on software development experience, including leading teams. Demonstrated experience managing or closely collaborating with AI/ML engineers or data science teams. Prior experience as a lead engineer or staff engineer, or director-level engineer in a scaling organization. Experience working with US based leadership or in distributed teams. Experience working in US based healthcare companies and RCM companies. Technical Skills Strong backend engineering (e.g., PHP Laravel, Vue.js, Node.js, Python) and cloud architecture (GCP). Experience with AI/ML pipelines, model integration, or collaborating with data scientists. Good grasp of CI/CD, DevOps, and system performance optimization. Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals (scalability, security, maintainability). Leadership Skills Excellent communication, especially in remote/global contexts. Strong problem solving and decision making abilities. Ability to balance IC contribution with technical oversight.
