As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in defining and owning the end-to-end Azure Data Architecture. Your responsibilities will include translating business requirements into scalable, reusable, secure, and cost-optimized data platform designs. You will architect solutions for batch, near real-time, and streaming data processing using Azure-native services. Additionally, you will establish and govern data architecture standards, design patterns, naming conventions, and best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Define and own the end-to-end Azure Data Architecture, spanning ingestion, processing, storage, governance, serving, and visualization layers. - Translate business requirements into scalable, reusable, secure, and cost-optimized data platform designs. - Architect solutions for batch, near real-time, and streaming data processing using Azure-native services. - Establish and govern data architecture standards, design patterns, naming conventions, and best practices. - Lead enterprise data modeling and ensure correct implementation of warehouse and lakehouse structures. - Design and oversee robust ETL/ELT frameworks with strong error handling, logging, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms. - Drive data governance, quality, lineage, and compliance initiatives across the data platform. - Ensure data security and privacy through proper identity, access control, encryption, and audit mechanisms. - Own performance tuning and cost optimization, including compute sizing, workload isolation, capacity planning, and usage monitoring. - Provide architectural guidance on Azure infrastructure, networking, security boundaries, and deployment models. - Evaluate new Azure services and emerging technologies, providing architecture recommendations and trade-off analysis. - Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, and client architects to ensure alignment with business objectives. - Support solution estimation, technical proposals, RFPs, and client-facing architecture discussions as a subject matter expert. - Provide technical leadership, mentor teams, review designs, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of data solutions. Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of overall IT experience with deep expertise in Data Architecture and Azure Data Platform solutions. - Strong understanding of big data processing, schema-on-read, data lakehouse architectures, and modern enterprise data warehousing. - Hands-on architectural and implementation experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (PySpark), Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric is a must. - Strong proficiency in Python (PySpark mandatory) and SQL; familiarity with Power BI DAX is a plus. - Experience designing enterprise-grade ETL/ELT frameworks, metadata-driven pipelines, reusable ingestion patterns, and orchestration strategies. - Solid expertise in data modeling (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, SCD Type 2) for warehouse and lakehouse implementations. - Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, lineage, cataloging, and security models including RBAC, data masking, and row/column-level security. - Experience with cost management, capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of Azure data workloads (compute, storage, query performance). - Understanding of Azure infrastructure concepts including networking (VNet, Private Endpoints), identity (AAD, Managed Identity), resource organization, and subscription management. - Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform), and automated deployments for data platforms. - Experience designing semantic layers and reporting models for Power BI and Tableau. - Good to have: Hands-on or architectural exposure to Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Engineering, Data Pipelines, capacity management, and Power BI integration.
