About the role
To lead and execute electrical commissioning activities for thermal power plant systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely synchronization of equipment with grid operations in line with project schedules and quality standards.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) is mandatory.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering may be considered with relevant experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical systems including generators, transformers, switchgear (HT/LT), GIS/AIS, and protection systems.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely completion of commissioning milestones.
Perform inspection, testing, calibration, and energization of electrical equipment as per approved procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and quality norms during commissioning activities.
Monitor and troubleshoot electrical faults during trial runs and stabilization phases.
Review commissioning protocols, test reports, and technical documentation.
Participate in synchronization activities of units with the grid and ensure smooth load ramp-up.
Maintain documentation related to commissioning activities, test results, and deviations.
Support performance guarantee tests (PGT) and reliability run activities.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and maintain coordination across cross-functional teams (Mechanical, C&I, Operations).
