Team: This person will be joining the Enterprise Data Analytics team which consists of ~16 FTEs and 5 contractors currently. All individuals are engineers and data engineers working on the cloud migration (GCP primarily + some Azure). Role + Day to day: Looking for a mid-level data engineer with a Hadoop, Python, PySpark, and cloud background to assist with migrating 400 campaigns to cloud environments over the next year. These individuals will be in the trenches doing development, integration, and migration work to influence a handful of different areas within CVS Health. These engineers will work closely in an “Agile pod” with individuals on a cross-functional team to move these campaigns forward – there are data science teams, analytics teams, marketing cloud teams, medical director teams, etc they will be partnering with. Start: ASAP Duration: 3-6 month contract to hire (prefers no h1s) – project funded through 2022 Interview Process: 3-4 round video WebEx, first with Alpesh (30 minutes) then 45 minute interviews with data engineers on the team Background Check: 7 year criminal (federal, county, state) Employment verification – 7 years Education verification Drug test - 10 panel COVID Vaccine or Reasonable Accommodation Hours / Shift: First – 40 hours / week Notes: It can be as quickly as take a few days and up to 2 weeks to confirm a start date for candidates after they accept the verbal as the ITERR form approval process moves through the internal course Dress code: Business casual Data Engineer: Position Summary Description/Fundamental Components: Assists in the development of large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs Applies understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work Uses expertise, judgment and precedents to contribute to the resolution of moderately complex problems Writes ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing Collaborates with client team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes Uses knowledge in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and experience designing & optimizing queries to build data pipelines Uses programming skills in Python, Java or any of the major languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems Builds data marts and data models to support clients and other internal customers Integrates data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards Required Qualifications 1-3 years of progressively complex related experience Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands
