About the role
Job Description : Job Summary : We build Linux-based routers with advanced forwarding (unicast/multicast/broadcast), secure VPN (WireGuard/tinc), and core services (DHCP, DNS client, NTP). We operate an inhouse Windows-based automated test platform where test suites/cases are defined in XML and executed via C/C++ MinGW command-line tools. You will own test planning from change requests, develop/extend automation, execute test suites, and debug issues across networking, services, and diagnostics. Strong Linux/networking fundamentals, comfort with Windows scripting/CLI, and hands-on packet analysis are essential. Key Responsibilities : You will validate and continuously improve a Linux-based router platform that includes : - Forwarding : unicast, multicast, broadcast, with client-specific customizations - Secure VPN : WireGuard and tinc - Services : DHCP server management, DNS client handling, NTP - Packet capture & analysis, system diagnostics (system watch snapshots) - UI in JavaScript, backend in C/C++, with Linux tools like igmpproxy, iptables/netfilter, tcpbridge, dtls_proxy Required Skills & Qualifications : - 7 - 11 years of experience in Network Testing Must-Have Skills : - Solid Linux networking fundamentals : L2/L3, routing/forwarding, VLANs, NAT/firewall basics. - Hands-on with iptables/netfilter (nftables a plus), IGMP/igmpproxy, multicast flows. - VPN experience : WireGuard and/or tinc (peering, keys, routing, MTU). - Automation with XML-defined tests : comfortable reading/writing XML; XPath; reusable test steps. - Languages : Competent in C/C++ for tool upkeep; scripting (Bash and/or Python) for helpers. - Tools : Git, CI (e.g., Jenkins/Azure DevOps), issue trackers (Jira), documentation habits. Nice to Have : - Packet capture & analysis : tcpdump, Wireshark, pcap filters, correlating traces with logs. - Services : DHCP server behavior, DNS client resolvers, NTP concepts (stratum, offset, jitter). - Windows CLI & scripting : PowerShell and/or Batch; operating MinGW-built command-line tools. - nftables, ebtables/bridge utilities, tc/qdiscs, interface bonding/bridging. - Scapy, iperf3, Npcap/WinPcap; serial console workflows. - Experience with custom/lab test frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop, or ladder/flow-based automation tools. - Familiarity with JavaScript UIs for validating front-end to backend integration. - Exposure to security practices for VPN key mgmt and config hygiene.
