Jr. ELV/Electrical Engineer

Business: Nxtra by Airtel Africa – Data Centre Business Reporting to: Head – Data Centre Engineering Nxtra by Airtel Africa is expanding its hyperscale data centre portfolio and is seeking a Jr. ELV / Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems to support the design and delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects across Africa. Role Overview The role will primarily focus on ELV systems engineering, integration, and delivery for hyperscale data centres, including security, monitoring, and life-safety systems. The engineer will also support electrical, BMS, and EPMS coordination to ensure seamless system integration and reliable operations. Key Responsibilities Lead support for ELV system design, execution, and integration for hyperscale data centres Oversee implementation of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, PA/VA, and structured cabling systems Coordinate integration of ELV systems with BMS and EPMS platforms Review ELV design documents, drawings, specifications, and vendor submittals Coordinate with consultants, system integrators, OEMs, and contractors Ensure ELV systems meet data centre standards, cybersecurity requirements, and statutory norms Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and project handover Participate in vendor evaluations, FAT/SAT, and technical documentation Experience & Qualifications Total experience: 10 years Minimum 3 years of hands-on data centre experience Strong exposure to ELV design and delivery in hyperscale data centre projects Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent Working knowledge of electrical systems, BMS, and EPMS integration Key Skills ELV systems (security, life safety, structured cabling) Data centre security & monitoring architecture System integration & IST Hyperscale project delivery Design coordination & site execution
