Data Engineer (GCP)

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer (GCP) for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in GCP, data modeling, and data pipeline development, with responsibility for designing, maintaining, and optimizing data infrastructure to support enterprise analytics and business intelligence initiatives . Rate Range: $50/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Data Engineer (GCP) Job Responsibilities include: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure to support data collection, transformation, storage, and analytics requirements.

Build and optimize data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and BigQuery solutions for structured and unstructured data.

Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver reliable, efficient, and scalable data solutions.

Develop data integration processes using GCP services, Cloud Functions, Data Fusion, Airflow/Astronomer, and related cloud technologies.

Implement data quality, performance optimization, monitoring, and automation processes to ensure efficient and accurate data workflows.

Leverage AI-assisted development tools and cloud-native technologies to enhance developer productivity and support continuous improvement of data engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

4+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, data warehousing, and cloud-based data platform development.

Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Data Fusion, Airflow/Astronomer, data ingestion, data transformation, and data modeling.

Proven expertise in building scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics solutions, with knowledge of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini Code Assist, and cloud AI services.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
