Hybrid (3-6 years)
Primary Skills
• Japanese – Minimum requirement of Japanese language proficiency at the JLPT N3 level or higher
• Design, build, enhance, and maintain robust mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM).
• Analyze complex business requirements and architect scalable technical solutions.
• Lead code reviews, set coding standards, and oversee the output of junior developers.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain mainframe programs to ensure performance and reliability.
• Strong familiarity with debugging tools (like: File-Aid, Xpeditor, Abend-AID), schedulers, and source/version control (Endevor or Changeman).
• Deep analytical and troubleshooting skills for production, performance, and reliability issues.
• Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile processes
• Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certified at N3 or above.
Secondary Skills
• Experience in Assembler, mainframe migration, DevOps, or cloud modernization initiatives.
• Expertise in advanced DB2 tuning, batch optimization, or automation (REXX, MQ, scripting).
• Demonstrated leadership in mentorship, process improvement, and stakeholder management and good grasp of AI concepts
