System Engineering Manager

As the Software Systems Engineering Manager at Allegion India, you will lead a team of Software Engineers and Interaction/UI Designers to drive the development of next-generation IoT software connecting electromechanical locks and access control systems. Your responsibilities will include providing both people and technical leadership, fostering a culture of trust and inclusivity, and integrating user-centric design into technical ecosystems. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Software Systems Engineers and Interaction/UI Designers in Bangalore - Manage performance, career development, and resource allocation - Collaborate across organizations to ensure a transparent and accountable work environment - Strengthen the Systems Engineering competency in GSS through continuous improvement and innovation - Provide technical guidance to software systems engineers in managing complex technical requirements - Oversee the UI/UX design workflow to deliver intuitive and technically sound user interfaces - Partner with product management, architecture, and security teams to inform business decisions - Lead the management of technical scope throughout the development lifecycle Qualifications Required: - Demonstrated experience in people management, including hiring, mentoring, and developing technical talent - At least 8 years experience in IoT devices, access control, or similar complex industries - Deep experience in Systems Engineering processes and design principles - Ability to manage and provide direction to Interaction and UI Designers - Strong skills in project management, communication, and technical knowledge - Experience in cybersecurity protocols, cloud architectures, and mobile SDKs - 15 to 20 years of industry experience and 5+ years in Software Systems Engineering - Preferred skills in IoT, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi based product development - BE or M.Tech in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field - Preferred credentials: Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) Allegion offers a great place to grow your career if you are seeking a rewarding opportunity to make an impact, value personal well-being and balance, and are looking for a company that invests in your professional development.
