Login heading Sybase ASE-IQ Engineer/Developer Carrollton December 6, 2024 Contract Apply Now email apply form here Apply for this job Apply with login Please login as "Candidate" to apply Back to jobs Main content job description Job Description Responsibilities: · Lead the migration of databases from Sybase ASE/IQ to SQL Server, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. · Conduct detailed assessments of existing Sybase ASE/IQ databases, including schema, data, and stored procedures. · Develop and implement migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management. · Utilize SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) and other tools to automate and streamline the migration process. · Modify and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to ensure compatibility and performance in SQL Server. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, business analysts, and IT support, to ensure successful migration. · Perform thorough testing and validation of migrated data to ensure accuracy and integrity. · Provide post-migration support, including troubleshooting and performance tuning. · Document migration processes, procedures, and best practices. Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. · Proven experience with Sybase ASE/IQ and SQL Server, including database administration and development. · Strong understanding of database migration methodologies and tools, particularly SSMA. · Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and stored procedure development. · Experience in the capital markets or banking domain is highly desirable. · Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience with other database technologies such as Oracle or PostgreSQL. · Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
