MEP Engineer- Industrial Construction Project

Role Responsibility: 1. Design Engineering Oversight Review and finalize MEP designs (HVAC, power distribution, water supply, drainage, fire protection). Ensure compliance with standards like ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, and local codes. Optimize designs for industrial efficiency (energy use, load handling, redundancy). 2. Project Planning Execution Prepare MEP execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation. Coordinate with civil, structural, and architectural teams. Track progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets. 3. Vendor Contractor Management Evaluate and select subcontractors and suppliers. Review shop drawings, technical submittals, and material approvals. Monitor on-site work quality and productivity. 4. Site Supervision Installation Supervise installation of systems like: HVAC (chillers, AHUs, ducting) Electrical (HT/LT panels, transformers, cable trays) Plumbing firefighting systems Ensure installations meet approved drawings and specifications. 5. Testing, Commissioning Handover Lead testing commissioning of all MEP systems. Ensure systems operate as per design intent. Prepare documentation (as-built drawings, OM manuals). Support client handover and training. 6. Quality Assurance Safety Implement QA/QC procedures. Ensure compliance with safety standards such as OSHA or equivalent local safety regulations. Conduct inspections and audits. 7. Cost Control Value Engineering Monitor project costs and identify savings opportunities. Perform value engineering without compromising performance. Handle variations, claims, and cost reporting. 8. Coordination Clash Resolution Use tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks for coordination. Resolve clashes between MEP and structural/civil elements using BIM. 9. Client Stakeholder Management Act as the main MEP point of contact. Attend project meetings and present updates. Ensure client requirements are met or exceeded. 10. Team Leadership Lead junior engineers and site teams. Provide technical guidance and mentoring. Delegate tasks and ensure accountability.
