Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator, your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle database systems to ensure high availability and disaster recovery. Your key responsibilities include: - Monitoring database performance and optimizing queries, indexes, and schema. - Performing regular backups and recovery procedures to maintain data integrity. - Managing user access and security for database systems. - Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues and performance bottlenecks. - Implementing and maintaining database replication and clustering solutions. - Developing and enforcing database standards, policies, and procedures. In addition to database administration, you will also be responsible for Middleware Administration tasks such as: - Installing, configuring, and maintaining JBoss and WebSphere application servers. - Monitoring application server performance and troubleshooting issues. - Collaborating with development teams to deploy, configure, and manage applications on JBoss and WebSphere. - Ensuring middleware security and compliance with organizational policies. - Automating deployment processes and managing configuration using CI/CD tools. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement middleware solutions. Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. You should also possess the following skills: - 5+ years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle databases. - 2+ years of experience in middleware administration with JBoss and WebSphere. - Robust knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning. - Experience with database backup and recovery tools (RMAN, Data Pump). - Familiarity with middleware concepts, including clustering, load balancing, and session management. - Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks. - Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. - Strong communication and collaboration skills.
