About the role
As a Platform Reliability Architect at Ashley GCC, you will play a crucial role in defining and driving enterprise-wide strategies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical Kubernetes platforms and cloud-native application ecosystems. Your responsibilities will include: - Define and evangelize platform architecture vision for Kubernetes and cloud-native applications. - Architect highly available, fault-tolerant Kubernetes platforms across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. - Design observability frameworks using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and distributed tracing. - Establish SRE principles (SLI/SLO, error budgets) and reliability engineering patterns. - Architect disaster recovery, multi-region failover, and business continuity frameworks. - Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, Progressive Delivery). - Partner with architects, developers, and product managers to deliver platform solutions. - Drive automation, developer productivity, and platform innovation. Qualifications and Skills required for this role: - 10-15 years of experience architecting, designing, and scaling enterprise-grade hybrid cloud-native platforms and application ecosystems. - Experience with Internal Developer Portals (IDP) or comprehensive platform engineering solutions. - Strategic architectural thinking with a proven ability to balance reliability, developer experience, and application delivery velocity. - Extensive experience architecting production Kubernetes platforms at scale. - Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, control plane design, application networking patterns, and container security models. - Expertise in architecting observability platforms and distributed tracing strategies. - Strong scripting and automation skills for architectural prototyping and tooling development. - Knowledge in infrastructure-as-code architectural patterns using Terraform and Ansible. - Experience collaborating with application development teams on microservices architecture and API design. Preferred/Recommended Skills: - Open-Source Leadership: Active contributor or maintainer of significant open-source projects. - Multi-Industry Experience: Background across retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, or supply chain domains. - Emerging Technologies: Architectural experience with service mesh, Agentic AI, eBPF, edge computing, or serverless Kubernetes. - Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator [CKA], Certified Kubernetes Application Developer [CKAD], Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist [CKS], or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift.
