Cloud Infrastructure Engineering ensures the continuous availability of the technologies and systems that are the foundation of athenahealths services. We are directly responsible for over a thousand databases, petabytes of storage, and handling thousands of web requests per second, all while sustaining growth at a meteoric rate. We enable an operating system for the medical office that abstracts away administrative complexity, leaving doctors free to practice medicine. We use an agile based framework to execute our work, ensuring we are always focused on the most important and impactful needs of the business. We support systems in both private and public cloud and make data-driven decisions for which one best suit the needs of the business. We are relentless in automating away manual, repetitive work so we can focus on projects that help move the business forward.Job Responsibilities. Leverage the principles of database resilience engineering to ensure the stability, security, performance and scalability of Snowflake systems and services. Ensure product success through the strategic use of technologies such as Snowflake, AWS S3 and Oracle Golden Gate. Develop software-based, automated solutions to core business problems. Design and implement software services that support Infrastructure-as-Code principles. Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance. Ability to document project work and produce RCA for the priority issues. Mentoring database administrators and providing them with technical support. Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals.Typical Qualifications. 6 years of experience building, scaling, and supporting highly available systems and services. Expertise in the delivery, maintenance, and support of Snowflake databases. Experience AWS S3. Deep understanding of relational database design and SQL. Experience with Oracle tools, utilities, Oracle version upgrades, migrations and patching. Strong knowledge and working experience in RAC, Goldengate and DataGuard. Experience in Automation frameworks like Ansible/Puppet is a plus. Experience with Oracle Golden Gate a plus. Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language preferred (Python, Ansible). Expertise in promoting and driving system visibility to aid in the rapid detection and resolution of issues. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceBehaviours & Abilities Required:. Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, while producing quality code.
