Junior Database Administrator MySQL & PostgreSQL

You will be responsible for supporting the operation, and maintenance of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. Your main responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the day-to-day administration of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in development, test, and production environments - Monitoring database health, availability, and performance under senior DBA guidance - Performing routine DBA tasks such as user and role management, schema changes, basic maintenance activities, log review, and alert investigation - Supporting database start/stop, backups, restores, and basic recovery tasks - Understanding and applying database design concepts, including normalization, denormalization, primary keys, foreign keys, indexes, and constraints - Executing and validating database backup and restore procedures for MySQL and PostgreSQL - Working in Linux environments to manage and support database systems - Responding to basic database alerts and incidents, escalating when required - Maintaining documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures - Participating in knowledge-sharing and learning sessions with senior DBAs Qualifications required for this role include: - 1 year of experience working with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL - Basic understanding of relational database fundamentals - Familiarity with Linux operating systems and standard Linux commands - Basic understanding of SQL queries (Select, Insert, Update, Delete) - Good problem-solving and communication skills Additional details of the company are not provided in the job description.
