About the role
- Experience with OpenShift installation methods (IPI, UPI, Assisted Installer).
- Knowledge of infrastructure requirements (networking, storage, DNS, load balancers).
- Ability to configure cluster-wide settings (ingress, registry, monitoring, logging).
- Familiarity with OpenShift custom resource definitions (CRDs) and operators.
- Understanding of security best practices (certificates, firewalls, compliance). Setting Up a New Master Node Setting Up a New Worker Node
- Skills Required: Experience with OpenShift MachineSets and MachineConfigs. Knowledge of worker node provisioning (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid). Ability to troubleshoot node join issues (kubelet, CRI-O, network). Understanding of node labeling and taints/tolerations. Familiarity with persistent storage attachment (if required).
- Working with Redhat for Bugs/Issues Skills Required: Experience with creating SOS Reports. Knowledge of Kubelet and CRIO. Ability to troubleshoot node join issues (kubelet, CRI-O, network). Additional Useful Skills Scripting & Automation: Bash/Python scripting for automation. Ansible/Helm for OpenShift/Kubernetes automation.
- Networking: Understanding of OpenShift SDN (OVN-Kubernetes, OpenShift SDN). Knowledge of ingress controllers and routes.
- Security: Familiarity with Pod Security Admission (PSA) / Pod Security Policies (PSP). Knowledge of network policies and encryption (TLS, mTLS). CI/CD Integration: Experience with OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton) or Jenkins. Cloud/On-Prem Knowledge: AWS/Azure/GCP (if using managed OpenShift). VMware/Bare Metal (if on-prem). Certifications (Optional but Recommended) Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
