Sr GIS Analyst

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical or civil engineering, urban planning, geography, geographical information systems (GIS), environmental science or natural science from an accredited school and 6 years of experience in data analysis, exhibits or map creation for various situations, preferably involving geo-spatial and natural science data with 1 year of experience using GIS software’s. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in data analysis, exhibits or map creation for various situations, preferably involving geo-spatial and natural science data with 4 years of experience using GIS software’s. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated experience with GIS and Mapping principles, practices and techniques of automated drafting and mapping; and relational databases. Demonstrated knowledge of geographic information system concepts and analytical techniques, including computerized mapping and attribute-data conversion, manipulation and analysis. Demonstrated understanding of principles and practices of relational database design, micro and mini-computers, drafting or mapping, peripheral equipment and computer system operations. Demonstrated understanding of global positioning systems (GPS), and land surveying concepts. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated communication including oral, written and presentation; interpersonal and leadership; project management skills. Demonstrated prioritization and handling multiple issues and projects concurrently.
