About the role
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities : Architectural know-how: Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure Oracle database architectures (RAC, Data Guard, Active Data Guard, Exadata, GoldenGate). Performance Tuning & Optimization: Expert-level proficiency in identifying and resolving complex performance bottlenecks across the entire Oracle stack (SQL, PL/SQL, instance, storage, network). Develop and implement proactive performance monitoring and tuning strategies. Database Security: Implement and enforce robust Oracle database security best practices, including auditing, encryption (TDE), access control, and compliance with industry standards. Patching & Upgrades: Plan, execute, and validate major Oracle database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities with minimal downtime. Troubleshooting: Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex database issues, OS level issues and providing expert-level diagnosis and resolution. Capacity Planning: Proactively monitor database growth and performance trends, providing accurate capacity planning and resource recommendations. Monitoring & Alerting Tools: Experience with enterprise-grade monitoring solutions (e.g., OEM, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk). Qualifications Educational qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience : 14+ years Mandatory/requires Skills : Oracle DBA Preferred Skills : Oracle DBA , Leadership mindset , Stakeholder management Additional Information Project & Delivery Management: Ability to analyze customer requirements and design optimal database solutions with experts in the team. Experience working with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Experience working with vendors to support and manage escalations. Soft Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to act as a bridge between central IT teams and business customers. A team-oriented mindset with leadership and mentoring capability. Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus). Good-to-Have: Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain advanced shell scripts (Bash), Python scripts, and potentially Ansible playbooks for system administration, monitoring, and deployment tasks. Infrastructure: Understanding Linux operating system, networking configuration, storage architecture for troubleshooting, and best practices for high-performance and secure database operation. Cloud Technologies: Understanding and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) beyond basic IaaS, including PaaS database services and infrastructure automation tools.
