Job description About the role We are looking for a Senior Java / J2EE Developer to join our engineering team. You will design and build enterprise-grade software components, reusable libraries, and APIs that power platforms and services across the organisation, with a strong focus on code quality, automation, and engineering best practices. Key responsibilities - Design and develop reusable libraries and application programming interfaces for use across the organisation. - Design and develop software that supports greater automation of build, release, testing, and deployment processes across all environments. - Support the reuse and sharing of platform components and technologies within software engineering teams. - Deliver software components that enable the delivery of platforms, applications, and services. - Write unit and integration tests in automated test environments to ensure and maintain code quality. - Oversee the quality of work output, ensuring it consistently meets defined technical standards across all services. - Contribute to and champion best practices for application development and the software development lifecycle. - Write concise yet comprehensive technical documentation for developed systems and components. What we're looking for - 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java / J2EE development with strong object-oriented design fundamentals. - Solid proficiency in Spring Boot and Hibernate ORM for enterprise application development. - Solid experience with both relational and non-relational databases design, querying, and optimisation. - Hands-on experience with build and CI/CD tooling: Maven, Jenkins, TeamCity, and GitLab. - Comfortable working in Linux environments for development, deployment, and troubleshooting. - Experience with caching technologies including Coherence Cache and SOLR. - Working knowledge of JavaScript for integration and front-end interaction tasks. - Strong ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate .
