As a Database Administrator (DBA) at our company, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our SQL Server and AWS database environments to ensure high performance, availability, scalability, and security. This hands-on, high-impact role is ideal for professionals who enjoy managing large-scale databases, solving complex data challenges, modernizing legacy systems, and collaborating with Engineering, DevOps, and Analytics teams. Key Responsibilities: - Manage day-to-day administration of SQL Server 2019+ environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, scalability, and security. - Design and maintain scalable cloud architectures on AWS, including MySQL RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB. - Perform core DBA activities such as database backups and restores, data de-identification, and proactive monitoring and optimization of database performance. - Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to support analytics and reporting needs. - Troubleshoot database issues related to performance, blocking, and job failures using SQL queries and monitoring tools. - Participate in on-call rotations (PagerDuty) and respond to production incidents and alerts. - Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless data operations across environments. - Support release management, including database deployments and production changes. - Continuously improve database administration processes and best practices. Qualifications Required: - Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server (administration, performance tuning, and optimization). - Hands-on experience with AWS database services (RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB). - Experience with database monitoring tools such as Idera and Redgate. - Ability to work in on-call rotations and handle critical production incidents. - Strong proficiency in SQL development, including complex stored procedures and performance troubleshooting. - Working knowledge of ETL tools and processes. - Experience in production deployments and active participation in release management processes. - Experience with AWS services such as Bedrock, OpenSearch, Glue, and Lambda. - Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and enterprise data architecture principles. - Exposure to automation, DevOps practices for databases, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). - Familiarity with NoSQL databases, caching technologies, and event-driven architectures. - Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, insurance, or financial services.
