Role & responsibilities ob Description Utility Electrical Manager Location: Navi Mumbai Experience: 5+ Years Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Supervisor License preferred) Job Summary The Utility Electrical Manager will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of the airport's electrical utility infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted power supply across all airport facilities. The role includes managing substations, HT/LT distribution systems, DG sets, UPS systems, transformers, and other critical electrical assets while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, airport safety standards, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Manage the operation and maintenance of electrical utility systems, including HT/LT substations, transformers, switchgear, power distribution networks, DG sets, UPS systems, and associated infrastructure. Ensure uninterrupted power supply to all airport facilities through effective preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment to maximize system reliability and minimize downtime. Lead troubleshooting and timely resolution of electrical faults and emergency breakdowns. Monitor electrical system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, airport operational requirements, and internal policies. Coordinate with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and utility service providers for inspections, statutory approvals, and power-related issues. Manage annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), vendor performance, and contractor activities. Prepare maintenance budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize operational costs without compromising reliability. Lead electrical upgrade projects, energy optimization initiatives, and infrastructure improvement programs. Drive energy conservation initiatives by monitoring power consumption and implementing efficiency measures. Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, equipment history, and compliance reports. Support emergency response activities and ensure electrical systems are restored promptly during outages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical, HVAC, Civil, Fire & Safety, BMS, and Airport Operations, to ensure seamless facility operations. Lead, mentor, and develop the electrical maintenance team while ensuring adherence to safety procedures and best practices. Preferred candidate profile Key Skills Operation & Maintenance of HT/LT Electrical Systems Electrical Substations & Power Distribution Transformers, Switchgear & Protection Systems DG Sets, UPS & Emergency Power Systems Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Electrical Safety & Statutory Compliance Energy Management & Power Optimization Vendor & Contractor Management Budgeting & Cost Control Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting Project Execution & Infrastructure Upgrades Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management SAP/CMMS (Preferred) MS Office & Technical Reporting Preferred Experience Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical utility operations and maintenance. Experience in airports, commercial buildings, metro, data centres, industrial plants, hospitals, or large infrastructure facilities is preferred. Strong knowledge of HT/LT systems, substations, electrical protection systems, and statutory compliance. Experience in handling critical utility operations with 24x7 service requirements.
