Lead UI Designer

CarDekho Group runs one of India's largest auto classifieds platforms, where millions of users search, compare, and buy/sell vehicles every month. We're hiring a UI Designer Lead to build and scale the design system powering our consumer surfaces for search & discovery, listing pages, and transaction flows, and to raise the design bar across the team. What You'll Own - Build a scalable, component-based design system from the ground up (or mature an existing one) across web, Android, and iOSDefine tokens, patterns, and documentation that let designers and engineers ship consistent UI fasterOwn governance: what gets added to the system, versioning, and adoption across squadsUse AI tools to scale design output generating component variants, automating documentation, speeding up handoff to engineering, and reducing repetitive production work across the teamLead UI design for high-traffic surfaces across the classifieds funnel (search, listing detail, filters, buyer/seller flows)Set the visual and interaction quality bar for the team, reviewing and raising the level of others' workPartner with product and engineering leads to validate designs against usage data and iterate post-launchMentor and review the work of other UI/product designers, including how they use AI in their own workflowRepresent design in cross-functional planning, making the call on build-vs-reuse-from-system tradeoffs What We Expect You to Bring - Must-Have 46 years of UI design experience, including direct experience building or scaling a design systemExperience designing for B2C or e-commerce products at meaningful scale (high-traffic, conversion-driven surfaces)Strong command of Figma (or equivalent), including component architecture, variants, and design tokensPractical experience using AI tools (e.g., Figma AI, Midjourney, Claude, or similar) to speed up design production, ideation, or documentationDemonstrated ability to design consistently across web and mobile app platformsComfort working with data using funnel metrics, heatmaps, or A/B results to inform design and system decisionsExperience reviewing or mentoring other designers, even informallyPrior experience in classifieds, marketplace, or auto/mobility industry productsExperience partnering directly with design engineers/frontend teams on a component library (e.g., Storybook)Experience setting up AI-assisted workflows or tooling for a design team (not just individual use) .
