About the role
Role Overview: As a Software Engineer III - Java/Python/AWS Developer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Card Financial Transactions team, you will have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to take your software engineering career to the next level. You will be an integral part of an agile team working to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role as a core technical contributor involves conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support the firm's objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or address technical problems. - Develop secure high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others. - Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance overall operational stability of software applications and systems. - Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and technical applicability. - Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote the use of new technologies. - Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems. - Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture. - Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies. Qualification Required: - Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience. - Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. - Proficiency in coding in Java, Python, Spring Framework, or Database Query Languages. - Hands-on practical experience in AWS, Containers (Kubernetes/EKS), ECS, Lambda, Step functions, Apache Kafka, MSK, AWS RDS Aurora Postgres, DynamoDB, SQS. - Proficiency with AWS Cloud services like compute, storage, databases, network, application integration, monitoring & alerting, Identity & Access Management. - Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. - Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security. - Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline. - Practical cloud native experience. Additional Details: Preferred qualifications include holding an AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification, along with in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
