Principal Engineer, Infrastructure

Role Overview: As the AWS Infrastructure Platform Owner at Manifest Global, you will be responsible for redesigning and optimizing the AWS infrastructure platform across all products within the Manifest family. Your role will involve making architectural decisions that will shape the engineering organization for the coming years. You will lead the development of a shared, self-service foundation that all engineering teams can freely build upon, ensuring high availability, scalability, compliance with data residency requirements, and regulatory standards across 50+ countries. Your success will be measured by the reduction in cross-team dependencies and the increased engineering velocity across the portfolio. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and optimize the production AWS infrastructure serving all Manifest brands, ensuring high availability and scalability - Define architectural standards and guardrails to empower product teams to build without creating fragility at the platform level - Ensure platform compliance with student data residency requirements, GDPR, and access control obligations across different countries - Drive the infrastructure roadmap in collaboration with engineering leads across Cialfo, BridgeU, Explore, and the central Platform Team - Build self-healing systems and observability infrastructure to detect and recover from platform problems proactively - Develop infrastructure-as-code posture using Terraform or CloudFormation, focusing on security, compliance, and quality controls - Own the continuous integration and deployment pipelines to accelerate code deployment and eliminate bottlenecks - Create self-service tooling for developers and data engineers to provision, configure, and operate their own infrastructure without manual interventions Qualifications Required: - Extensive experience in building, deploying, and maintaining production cloud infrastructure at scale on AWS - Proficiency in containers like Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and automation reflex to eliminate manual tasks and improve engineering efficiency - Strong communication skills to explain architectural decisions to engineering leads and write documentation for effective collaboration - Ability to handle the complexity of managing infrastructure across multiple brands, technology profiles, and compliance requirements - Passion for building a robust platform that supports global human capital mobility and aligns with Manifest Global's mission Note: The job description does not include any additional details about the company.
