Data Platform Solution Architect

As a Data Platform Solution Architect at Claidroid Technologies Pvt. Ltd., you will be joining an existing enterprise data platform team and playing a key role in assessing, shaping, and guiding the next stage of platform transformation. Your responsibilities will include: - Rapidly assessing and developing a deep understanding of the current data platform across all layers and components. - Defining and owning the target-state architecture, bridging the gap between current implementation and future platform needs. - Designing the architectural roadmap for the next stage of data platform transformation. - Translating business and data requirements into architectural decisions, reference designs, and technical standards. - Providing hands-on architectural guidance to engineering teams on a day-to-day basis. - Identifying architectural risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and mitigation strategies across the platform. - Defining integration patterns, data flow designs, and governance standards across source ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers. - Establishing and enforcing architecture principles, design patterns, and platform standards. - Collaborating with data governance, business, and technology stakeholders to align platform direction with enterprise requirements. - Supporting migration planning by defining target architectures, transition states, and validation strategies. - Driving decisions on platform tooling, infrastructure, and service selection in alignment with cloud and enterprise architecture standards. Key Requirements: - 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Architecture. - Minimum 45 years of experience in a Solution Architect or Platform Architect role. - Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data platform architectures end-to-end, from source ingestion through to consumption. - Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, including Pipelines, Spark Pool, and Dedicated SQL Pool. - Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecture. - Experience with Unity Catalog for governance and control frameworks. - Strong knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Delta Lake on Azure. - Experience with Azure Analysis Services. - Experience with Power BI and semantic layer design. - Knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate or equivalent real-time replication patterns. - Deep understanding of medallion/lakehouse architecture patterns, including Raw, Harmonized, Conformed, and Consumption layers. - Strong knowledge of data modelling approaches, including relational, dimensional, and lakehouse-oriented models. - Experience designing data governance architectures, including lineage, data quality frameworks, audit and control patterns, SCD versioning, and CDC. - Ability to design both batch and real-time data processing solutions at scale. - Experience architecting parallel-run and phased migration strategies across platforms. - Strong Azure cloud architecture skills, including security, networking, scalability, and cost optimization. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform. - Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data platform delivery using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. - Awareness of containerization and compute management concepts such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong hands-on engineering background with the ability to engage credibly with senior engineers on implementation decisions. - Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to review, challenge, and contribute to code where required. - Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, pipeline design patterns, and performance optimization at scale. - Proven experience joining mid-flight programmes and quickly understanding existing implementations without starting from a blank slate. - Strong ability to balance pragmatism with rigour, delivering architecture that works for the team today while keeping the long-term direction sound. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to present technical architecture clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders. - Collaborative working style with the ability to work closely with delivery teams in a hands-on architect capacity. Preferred: - Immediate joiners or candidates serving a short notice period. - Candidates willing to work from Thiruvananthapuram or Pune in hybrid mode. - Experience with Azure Purview for enterprise data governance. - Exposure to real-time and streaming architectures such as Event Hub, Kafka, or Kinesis. - Familiarity with MLOps and GenAI platform integration patterns. - Experience with monitoring and observability frameworks such as Dynatrace. - Background in financial services or other regulated industries is desirable.
