Senior Storage Engineer Red Hat ODF/Ceph

Position Overview :- Location: Hyderabad (Work from Office) Experience: 58 years Shift: Rotational Shifts We are looking for a Senior Storage Engineer (Red Hat ODF/Ceph) to join our team in Hyderabad! If you are a Ceph expert who thrives in the Kubernetes/OpenShift ecosystem and loves tackling complex, enterprise-level L2 storage challenges, we want to talk to you. Role: You will be reposible for deployment, operations, and advanced troubleshooting of storage platforms built on Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) and upstream Ceph. Serving as an L2 escalation point, youll ensure high availability, performance tuning, and bulletproof data integrity across our production containerized workloads and Kubernetes clusters. Key Responsibilities Cluster Management: Deploy and manage Red Hat ODF clusters (RBD, CephFS, RGW/S3) and handle daily pool cleanups, capacity management, and SSL certificate updates.Kubernetes Storage Integration: Administer ODF StorageClasses, PersistentVolumes, and VolumeSnapshots across production Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.Support: Troubleshoot critical storage incidents (OSD down/out events, slow I/O, split-brain scenarios, and MDS journal recovery).Architecture & Engineering: Integrate ODF with Kubernetes/OpenShift workloads, design host/rack-aware CRUSH topologies, and implement multi-site disaster recovery (DR).Automation & Monitoring: Automate Day-2 operations using Ansible and OpenShift/Kubernetes GitOps (ArgoCD). Build custom Prometheus/Grafana dashboards for storage-specific KPIs.Security: Implement encryption-at-rest/transit, manage CephX authentication, and ensure cluster hardening. Required Skills:- Ceph Storage: 4+ years of hands-on experience with MON, OSD, MDS, MGR, and RGW administration/troubleshooting.Red Hat ODF / OCS: 2+ years deploying and operating ODF on OpenShift 4.x.Kubernetes & OpenShift Platform: Strong working knowledge of core cloud-native container storage concepts including PV/PVC, StorageClasses, CSI drivers, and Operators.Linux OS: Deep understanding of RHEL 8/9 and CoreOS, including kernel tuning for storage I/O, disk schedulers, and huge pages.Observability: Proficiency in configuring Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager for storage environments.Automation: Scripting experience with Python and/or Bash.
