About the role
Plan and provide technical leadership for a group of software engineers to ensure commitments are met Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables on safety critical software development program Lead and manage the development of project staff. Attract, and develop software engineers and software engineering leaders Lead change initiatives: identify and implement creative, compliant ways to balance the cost of change with engineering value Utilize Earned Value Management System in program execution Utilize program metrics to drive change and improvements Collaborate with certification authorities and software quality to ensure successful insertion of software changes in new and fielded engines Coordinate and manage the development of tools and methods to automate process Qualifications: Bachelor s degree and 15+ years of prior relevant engineering and management experience Proven experience in leading teams engaged in safety critical software development and certification Leadership experience in avionics software development certification (civil-certified projects under DO-178B/C, Level A) Proven track record of successful project execution leadership, while meeting cost, schedule, scope, and quality commitments Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong written oral communicator and change agent Strong technical and people leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor and develop staff. Possess a collaborative way of working Demonstrated success in balancing business needs and affordability.
