Senior Technical Lead/Consultant/Lead Consultant-Optical Engineering (Testing)

Role Overview: Colt, a global provider of network, voice, and data center services, is looking for an experienced Optical Engineering Subject Matter Expert to join the Chief Operations Office (COO) team in Bangalore. As a key member of the Colt Optical Engineering team, you will lead the design, testing, and operationalization of advanced optical network solutions. Your role will involve working closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors to ensure the high performance, reliability, and scalability of Colt's optical network evolution. Key Responsibilities: - Drive new technology introduction initiatives, from requirements definition to production deployment. - Own optical product verification and validation, including feature qualification and performance benchmarking. - Act as a technical authority for optical network operations, supporting troubleshooting and service assurance activities. - Design, implement, and optimize large-scale optical network solutions using platforms from Ciena, Nokia, Infinera, and Adtran. - Lead optical platform validation, Optical SDN integration, and end-to-end system interoperability for advanced network automation. - Engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence, service quality, process enhancement, and operational maturity. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated optical solutions. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, test strategies, validation reports, and operational guidelines. Qualifications Required: - Deep expertise in optical transmission technologies and carrier-grade network architectures. - Hands-on experience with Ciena, Nokia, and Adtran optical platforms; knowledge of Infinera and Huawei solutions is desirable. - Knowledge in Optical SDN, network automation frameworks, and API technologies. - Experience integrating optical networks with Data Communication Networks (DCN) and IT/security systems. - Leadership in delivering technology-driven initiatives and new technology introductions. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related discipline. - Industry-recognized certifications in optical networking or SDN. - Familiarity with network management models, interfaces, and protocols.
