Job Description Summary EMC Storage arrays - Provisioning and Maintenance Cisco Fiber switch Management And Upgrade Planning EMC Virtualization using VPLEX EMC Networker Backup and Restore administration SourceOne Archive and Legal Hold Administration Backup Solution and Appliance Support (eg., data domain) Recover point Appliances Support for Storage Oracle Exadata Administration and Maintenance ZFS Storage Administration and Maintenance Detailed Activities Provide data Storage requirements (e.g., performance, capacity, level of data segregation, backup, restore, archival, data retention, reliability, encryption, security, scheduling, access control) and data Storage strategy Recommend data Storage management Services solutions (e.g., shared/dedicated storage, tiered storage, platforms, supporting infrastructure, encryption, security, access control) and procedures to meet PSEGLI’s requirements in accordance with data Storage strategy Manage and maintain data Storage infrastructure (e.g., RAID array, SAN, NAS) Monitor and control data Storage performance according to PSEGLI requirements and perform tuning as required leveraging PSEGLI provided Tool (e.g., VPLEX, Watch4net, ViPR, Unisphere, Cisco Device Manager, DCNM) Maintain and improve data Storage operations by incorporating industry/OEM best practices as applicable Notify PSEGLI of any data losses or potential for risk of data loss or compromise (e.g., damaged backup, operational errors) Perform data and file backups and restores per PSEGLI requirements Decommission Storage and backup environment in accordance with PSEGLI asset life cycle management processes EMC Storage arrays - Provision Storage EMC Storage arrays - Patch/Upgrade firmware versions with EMC (N-1 release schedule) Cisco MDS Switches - Reserve Ports Cisco MDS Switches - Patch/Upgrade (e,g., version 1.2.2 to 1.2.3) firmware as per Cisco recommendations (N-1 release schedule) EMC Virtualizer VPLEX - encapsulate Storage for virtualization EMC Virtualizer VPLEX - Upgrade VPLEX to follow (N-1 release schedule). Coordinate or manage replacing hardware components on Storage systems Coordinate hardware upgrades to existing systems (excluding any Project Management activities))
